MALE ROLES:

• *** KING CHARLES: Male, 40s+, Any ethnicity. A feared figure of tyranny. Hardened. Resentful. Calculated. Of few words whereas his actions have the greatest repercussions of which he is aware and makes it known. Although, if anyone dares to look at him for long, couldn’t help but feel sorry for him. Could struggle with addiction.

• PRINCE ROWAN: Male, Adult to play teenager, Any ethnicity. A tactful gentleman by upbringing. Ostentatious and eccentric by accident. Tormented by tradition. Wants nothing but reverence and admiration, whereas everyone expects him to fail. 18+ ONLY.

FEMALE ROLES:

• *** PRINCESS ERICIA: Female, Adult to play teenager, Any ethnicity. Lives in a bubble of romanticism. Determined. Adventurous. Well-read. Pedantic to the point of obliviousness, informed by a history of abuse. 18+ ONLY.

• MARIE: Female, 20s-30s, Any ethnicity. An immigrant far from home. A survivor burdened to hold the facade of compliance and dutifulness. Pure of heart. A well of knowledge and ancient stories.

• *** QUEEN OLIVIA: Female, 30s- 40s+, any ethnicity. An enigmatic woman. Graceful resourceful and cunning. Highly respected by everyone. Although complicit, she is in constant conflict with her own values against her husband’s tyranny.

CASTING NOTE #2: Interested persons are asked to not be discouraged by any accent requirements of their self-tape audition. The project is also open to interpretations with Standard English, or British accents or any familiarity with British variation. During the course of their shoot, the project will have persons familiar with the vernacular who are also studying linguists to assist in any accent requirements. However, it will be useful to attempt at the best of your ability for best assessments of your capabilities.
