Job Title: Casting Intern
Employment Status: Part-Time/ Project Basis
Job Summary:
The Casting Intern shall be the first point of contact for any and all submissions that are received through the Theatrebuzz Callboard. The Casting Intern will generally work remotely during the pre-production phase of any given project, but may from time to time be required on set/location during the production phase of specified projects.
Key Duties:
The duties of the Casting Intern shall include:
- Reviewing, processing and approving any and all submissions received via the Theatrebuzz Callboard for publication within 6 – 8 hours of receipt;
- Following up with clients for any additional information or clarification if/when necessary;
- Preparing and programming application forms for each post prepared for publication;
- Scheduling casting calls and other Callboard posts to publish across various social media platforms;
- Researching and communicating with present and upcoming producers/projects that may require casting support.
The Casting Intern(s) MAY also be required to perform any combination of the following:
- Liaising with the Casting Director, Casting Assistants or Casting Associates to shortlist artists and preparing Casting Dossiers;
- Providing reception services and general support at live auditions;
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate should:
- At least 18 years old;
- Own a laptop, tablet, or smart device with access to the internet;
- Be PROACTIVE, punctual & reliable, and be able to work remotely without supervision;
- Be a ‘people person’ and able to demonstrate patience, kindness and respect at all times;
- Be proficient in English, and have strong written and oral communication skills;
- Be a quick learner, quick thinker, be able to maintain a calm demeanour, and work efficiently under time constraints;
- Have an avid interest in theatre or film;
- Have an eye for detail;
- Be discreet, professional and honor confidentiality;
- Be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office;
- Proficiency in Canva (or any other design tools), Jotform, Zoom, WhatsApp and various social media platforms would be an asset, but may not be necessary;
- Proficiency in a second language (Spanish or French) will be an asset but may not be necessary;
- Practical experience in theatre and/or film production would be an asset, but may not be necessary.
Compensation: $25 TTD / hour
Frequency: Monthly

To be considered, interested persons are required to “Fan Cast” (using local actors/talent ONLY) 3 – 5 Lead or Supporting Roles in any existing play, musical, TV show or film of their choice, and submit as a PDF document. In your fan cast list please include:
- The name of the play, musical, TV show or film;
- The name of the roles you’re casting
- The first name, last name and close up photo of the local actor/talent/person you’d cast in each role;
- The names and photos of the actual actors that have been cast in these same roles;
- A short rationale on why you think your local selections are suitable for the roles in which they’ve been cast.
