FEMALE ROLES

Roberta – late 30s – mid 40’s

The Principal at Compo Compre. Pregnant. She’s easygoing, caring and ambitious but also unbothered and tired. She’s the mother of 5 children.

Mavis – mid 30s – early 40s

English A and English B Teacher. Pentecostal, secretive about her age, married and a mother of two children. She’s an outspoken problem solver who can be a bit of a perfectionist. She’s sophisticated and a great negotiator. She loves to give back to her community.

Shirley – mid 20s – early 30s

History and Social Studies teacher at Compo Compre. Mixed ethnicity. She’s sociable, outspoken and confident but pretty self-centered and nitpicky.

Denise – mid 20s – mid 30s

Administrator at Compo Compre. Muslim, single. While she desires peace, she is the least trusting person when it comes to men. Her spoilt upbringing allowed her to become a bit judgmental but that makes her dry and blunt way of speaking all the more entertaining..

Yasmin – late teens – early 20s

Student. This girl is a lady in the making. Very poised and respectful. She’s never worn pants in her life. However, she can be a bit of a pushover and indecisive, yet she’s very kind and sentimental.

Jessica – late teens – early 20s

Student. She comes from an overprotective home and finds expression through art and creativity. She wrestles with her self-esteem and is prone to jealousy but she’s resourceful and adventurous.

Stacy Ann – late teens – early 20s

Student. A bold, risk-taker who wants to run the country when she’s old enough. She doesn’t mind bending the rules a bit to have her way

MALE ROLES

Roy – late 30s – mid 40s

Vice-principal at Compo Compre. Afro-Trini. Divorced. Old-school but tries to be “with the times”. Can be stubborn and impulsive but has really good leadership qualities and communicates well.

Ryan – mid 30s – early 40s

Sciences Teacher at Compo Compre. Indo-Trini. Money motivates this straightforward intellectual who finds ways to beat the system

Bobby – mid 40s – mid 50s

P.E. Teacher at Compo Compre. Single. He is an impatient, fussy man who dives into confrontation, yet he is a well-travelled Casanova who is cultured and can speak multiple languages. People suspect that he might have a mental health disorder.

George – late teens – early 20s

Student. He is an intelligent, snitch at Compo Compre. Classic nerd who loves video games and coding. Heavy into anime and superhero movies.

Boy Boy – late teens – early 20s

Student. His name is Arthur. He’s a well-known footballer who is actually pretty smart at everything except English. He comes from a low income home and strives to make it in life.

Brian – late teens – early 20s

Student. This poet has the softest spot for women. Having been raised by his mother and sisters, all he wants to do is be a good man and settle down.

Preparation: Interested persons are asked to prepare a one minute audition with a character in mind, to perform at the live audition.
