Facilitator: Rhesa Samuel

Rhesa Samuel  is a seasoned theatre professional with over a decade of experience in producing, directing, writing, acting, and teaching theatre. She obtained a first class BA Theatre Arts  degree at the University of The West Indies and is currently a performing arts teacher at secondary school and Creative Director at Trinidad Theatre Workshop. With a passion for the performing arts, Rhesa has dedicated her career to bringing stories to life on stage and nurturing the talents of aspiring artists.

Throughout her career, Rhesa has hosted numerous successful improvisation shows, showcasing their quick wit, creativity, and ability to engage audiences. Her work in improvisation has not only entertained but also inspired many to explore the art of spontaneous performance.

As a teacher, Rhesa Samuel is committed to fostering the growth and development of individuals through the arts. They believe in the transformative power of theatre and strive to create an environment where creativity, expression, and personal growth can flourish.Rhesa’s dedication to the arts and her students is evident in her ongoing efforts to mentor and guide the next generation of theatre practitioners.


Facilitator: Tafar Chia Lewis

Tafar Chia Lewis is a venturesome actress, dramaturg, director, and writer, and the founder of Teatro Journee, a Caribbean performing arts organization.

Trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Tafar holds an MFA in classical and contemporary acting, with previous studies in Theatre at the University of the West Indies. Her accomplishments include playing Juliet at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at Shakespeare’s Globe in London, and producing and performing theatre while teaching in India, Nepal, Antigua, and Norway. She recently had the pleasure of facilitating her acting training program at the dynamic Tobago Performing Arts Company and is currently an acting coach for several talents in the Caribbean.

Tafar is one of the founding members of the National Theatre Arts Company of Trinidad and Tobago, currently serves as an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Creative and Festival Arts at U.W.I., and is writing and further developing her mono-drama called “God Save the Queen.”
