Job Summary:

Wirebend Folklore Theatre is seeking able bodied candidates to work backstage as Stagehands for their production of Anansi & the Book of Night, which will run May 9th – 10th at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts San Fernando, and May 12th – 13th, at the Government Campus Plaza Auditorium, Port-of-Spain.

The stagehands shall provide general support to the stage manager during production and pre-production, and may be required to assist performers during the running of the show. 

REPORTS TO: The Stage Manager

Key Duties:

The stagehand(s) will be required to:

  • Assist with movement of set and props on/offstage during performance
  • Assist actors with costume changes where necessary
  • Provide general assistance to the Stage Management Team during the performance of their duties.

NOTE: If selected, stage hands are expected to wear ALL black when working in the theatre. No prints, patterns, sleeveless, shorts, open toe shoes.

Compensation: $1,200 TTD (one time payment)

Note: The above compensation applies to persons who are available and are present for all the required dates outlined below. If you are unable to make all of the dates then a compensation package that is commensurate with the dates present and work done shall be offered instead.
