Dance Style: Ballet, Caribbean/Folklore, Modern

Synopsis: Narrated by a hilariously witty old sage bush woman, this film examines the question “what makes up a Caribbean woman?” using the post-colonial condition of the in-between as the basis of our understanding. It is in this in-between space that the Caribbean woman comes alive! — Magical yet human. Religious yet sexually liberated. European yet African. Bush yet cosmopolitan.

Log line: When a darkness causes island women to forget themselves, a mother and a daughter must come together and save the day.

NOTE: This is a self-funded passion project.

Character Breakdown

DANCERS: Female, 18 – 40 y/o. Must have professional dance experience. Seeking dancers of various races. [Paid Role]

SHAMAN: Female, 40 – 80 y/o. This is a principle background role. This character is the leader of the community. Applicants should have some sort of experience with movement or dance. [Unpaid Role: required for 1 – 2 days]

BACKGROUND ACTORS: Female, 21 – 80 y/o. Women of the community. Applicants should have some sort of experience with movement or dance. [Unpaid role: required for 1 – 2 days]

Preparation: Interested persons are asked to submit ONE (1) CLOSE UP and ONE (1) FULL-LENGTH photo of themselves (No hats, sunglasses, masks or filters. You face must be clearly visible), along with the following information:
