Description: Trinidadian New York City-based professional actor, Charlie Reid, will guide you through the fundamentals of a sustainable acting career with monologue and scene work on contemporary texts. Additional focus will be on-camera vs. stage performance – rooted in the Meisner technique.
Participants will be required to prepare a 1 – 2 minute monologue of their choice for the first session.
Course Outline:
- Day 1: Orientation, presentation and filming of prepared monologues, intro to Meisner.
- Day 2: Expand Meisner, assigned scene work.
- Day 3: Assign final monologue, block and rehearse scene work.
- Day 4: Moment-to-moment scene work – off-book.
- Day 5: Scene work presentation, final monologue rehearsal.
- Day 6: Final monologue presentation and filming.
Duration: 14th February – 2nd March 2022

COVID-19 Policies for Workshop
- All participants must be fully-vaccinated
- All participants will be masked unless otherwise instructed for exercise/classwork
- Upon-entry participants will be required to sanitize and be subject to temperature checks
- The location will provide an open-windowed studio space for proper ventilation
- The location will provide a socially distanced seating plan when not working
Facilitators: Charlie Reid
Charlie Reid is a Trinidadian born-and-raised, New York City-based professional actor. Training: Hofstra University (BFA) in New York and The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre (Conservatory) in NYC. Off-Broadway credits include: “See You” and “Gemini”. Trinidad credits include: “Scrooge”, “The King and I”, “It Runs in The Family”, “Mahalia: A Gospel Musical” and “Moon on a Rainbow Shawl”.
Cost: $600 TTD (one time payment)
