Contest Summary:

The makers of Big Man Dan present The Caddy Club 2D Character Design Competition. Win cash, Nestle products and more by taking up our challenge to create concepts for two lead characters from The Caddy Club animated movie.

Key Duties:

The Animator’s duties will be to create character concept art for two characters. Submission Guidelines and Character Design Prompts will be provided after registering for the Competition.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • The competition is open to designers worldwide.
    • We strongly encourage West Indians and people of Caribbean heritage to enter.
    • To qualify for the competition, you must have a bank account in your name and the capacity to receive either wire transfers, online transfers or electronic payments via PayPal.
  • Entrants must be over the age of 14 at either the time of entry or the closing date of November 30, 2020, whichever is later.
    • If you are under the age of 18 you will need written parental consent to enter the competition and to submit a digital copy of your parent or guardian’s photo ID along with your entry.
  • Experienced and inexperienced digital artists, illustrators and animators of all skill levels welcome.

Prizes:

Bess Character Design Prize

One winning design will receive:

  • TTD $1000/ JAD $20,000/EC $375/USD $140;
  • Opportunity to be considered for position of Character Designer on animated feature film;
  • Additional cash payment of $150 USD if your design is used in the final theatrical, limited or VOD release version of the animated film.

Top T&T Design Prize

The top designer residing in Trinidad &Tobago will receive:

  • A month’s worth of Nestle products.

People’s Choice Prize

  • Winning designer’s profile and online design portfolio/social media page will be highlighted on storyplaymedia.com and Twitter, Facebook and Instagram via @storyplaytv’s pages.

How to Apply:

 Entrants are required to submit:

  • A completed entry form;
  • Two (2) separate 2D polished, full colour, character designs for Keisha and Ryan from The Caddy Club movie;
  • A Character Designer’s statement of the specified limit and format, either in writing, via video or via a voice note linking your design choices to Keisha and Ryan’s character descriptions as well as The Caddy Club movie’s story, throughline and themes based on the reference material supplied;
  • A digital copy of your photo ID (ID, Driver’s License or Passport).

In order to qualify for bonus points you may additionally choose to submit:

  • A screenshot of an Instagram, Facebook or Twitter post with a composited image of your Keisha and Ryan character designs, using the competition hashtags and caption;
  • An optional time lapse video capturing your Keisha character design process from start to finish.
