Title: Angels Are Beneath Us

Synopsis: On a night of the blood moon, five teenagers of a struggling secondary school manage to find themselves in after-school detention and community service. Unknown to them, their detention is the plot of an insidious organization within the institution, who target the students who are considered outcasts of the school. They’re among society’s scum with barely anything going for them, surely they wouldn’t be missed.

Character Breakdowns:

Ivanna – Female, Indo/Afro Mix, 15-17

Ivanna is a character who everyone considers a ‘try hard’ or a ‘goody goody’. She’s basically the perfect child, but her confidence and outspoken nature masks the pressure she faces to succeed. She has her insecurities, but the day anyone knows she’ll be ruined.

Omar – Male, Afro-Caribbean, 17-21 y/o

Omar comes from a broken home and a poor family. When everything seems to go wrong he’s the first to come up with a solution or take action. His actions may not be the most commemorative, but when it comes down to the wire, he’s willing to do whatever it takes to protect and take care of the ones he loves.

Danté – Male, Hispanic/Portuguese, 16-20 y/o

Despite his impatience and reckless behaviour, Danté dreams of a future as an acclaimed footballer. Everyone has low expectations of him though, which has made him insecure, paranoid and a borderline jerk. 

Cassandra – Female, French Creole/Indo Mix, 15-19 y/o

Peculiar as she is intellectual, Cassandra is always on her own beat doing whatever moody, emo girls do. She uses her sensitivity to her advantage and gets a good laugh over being provocative to others. She spends most of her time in her sketchbook seemingly ignoring the rest of society, they’d be surprise to know how much she’s been paying attention.

Roman – Male, French Creole/Afro Mix, 15-19 y/o

Anyone who knows Roman knows of his lazy attitude towards what others may deem important. He is too preoccupied trying to fit in and be in everyone’s favour, that he neglects his own well being and mental health. With passive aggressive qualities and a high tempered mood, he clearly has a lot going on in his mind; not that he’ll talk to anyone about it. 

Dean Bishop –Male,Afro-Caribbean, 30-35 y/o

Dean is the sternest person you would ever meet. He teaches at a small secondary school in a quiet area, so he feels he must ensure discipline to maintain the school’s reputation. Rash and unorthodox in his scoldings, it can be assumed that he is passionate and sincerely cares about the upbringing of his students. But there’s something about him that feels off; as if he has ulterior motives.
