Description: This Spoken Word workshop uses the oral tradition and history of the Midnight Robber to empower young and budding poets and performers to develop new stories of fear, triumph and more.
Debuted at the Brave New Voices International Poetry Slam 2018 by registered Spoken Word artists and facilitators Keir Roopnarine and Brendon O’Brien, this workshop is specifically for beginner to intermediate poets.

Facilitators : Brendon O’Brien
Brendon O’Brien has a passion for stories – writing them, sharing them, and helping others find their own. His passion has guided his work as a Spoken Word poet, playwright, stage director and facilitator since 2008. He is a four-time First Citizens National Poetry Slam finalist, winner of the Ministry of Health’s inaugural ‘No Ifs No Butts’ Poetry Slam 2013, and was one of the first poets to represent T&T at the Individual World Poetry Slam 2018.

Keir Roopnarine
Keir Roopnarine is an education specialist who believes stories serve a powerful role in helping young people not just learn, but teach the world about themselves. She is a published short story writer and recent First Citizens National Poetry Slam semifinalist. She was the first woman poet to represent Trinidad and Tobago at the Individual World Poetry Slam 2018.
