A three-time National Scholarship winner and recipient of a recommendation from American Actor Will Smith, Steven M. Taylor combines his magnetic personality and unique skillset working either as Director, Assistant Director or Key Special Effects Makeup Artist on various feature films, music videos and television episodes.

He is an award-winning Filmmaker and Special Effects Makeup Artist. His unique visual style reflects a fresh, vivacious and bold flare evident in his Caribbean and International influences.

Steven has won several awards including the HORACE OVÉ AWARD, EUZHAN PALCY AWARD and the TOMAS GUTIERREZ ALEA AWARD for BEST OVERALL FILM STUDENT for three consecutive years. He holds a diploma in Makeup Art and Design (Canada), a BA (Hons.) in Film Studies and Film Production (Trinidad & Tobago) and a MFA in Cinematic Arts, Film and Television Production from the University of Southern California (USA).

His thesis film Buck: The Man Spirit was awarded the People’s Choice Award at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival after showing to sold out audiences and has garnered the attention of academia. His first short film The Otherside of Campus, however, was initially banned by the Censor’s Board for subject matter they described as being “too close to home.”
