Description: Creating a fun learning environment has been the pride of Performers Town. At our camp, your child will learn essential life skills; self-acceptance, expression, confidence and conflict resolution, through acting. Campers will be exposed to elements of musical theatre and dance workshops ranging from folk to Indian classical.

Our pan workshops will introduce campers to a basic level of reading sheet music, the history of steelpan, and practical exercises in playing the national instrument.

Come join us! Our trained drama in education teachers will give your child an experience to help their artistic development, and also furnish them with the tools become better people.

Field trips and nutritional lunches will be available for campers as well.

Duration: Tuesday 10th July  – Friday 10th August 2018

Camp Director:  Christy Maynard

Christy Maynard is a University of Trinidad and Tobago graduate with a BFA in the Performing Arts.

During her time at UTT, Christy has successfully completed Voice, speech and text training Level I-IV , Acting Level I-VII from Caribbean style to absurd theatre to acting for film, Communication skills, Script analysis, Playwriting, Fundamentals of play directing, Stagecraft (Costume, scenery, Lighting and sound design), Introduction to design, Introduction to Caribbean dance (Folk), Movement for actors Level I-III, Singing for actors, Entertainment industry business seminar, Oral reading and scoring of text, Theatre history Level I-IV, Caribbean performance seminar, Entrepreneurial Project management, Basic Mathematics, Life skills, Introduction to performance, Educative Theatre and Practicum (the mounting and performance of several stage plays).

Christy has tutored the toddlers and teenagers at Performance Town for two successful years. She has also tutored at Rosemand Performance Academy and Tranquil Government Primary School. She believes that Acting is therapeutic. With her BFA  now complete, she has her sights set on being a drama therapist for children.
