Theatre Auditions | ‘The Crucible’ by Arthur Miller (Closed)

Production Company: UWI Department of Creative and Festival Arts

Seeking: M/F Actors, 18 – 30 y/o (Click for Character Breakdown)

For:  Live Performance (Theatre)

Title: ‘The Crucible’ by Arthur Miller

Synopsis: Early in the year 1692, in the extremely religious Puritan small village of Salem, hysteria enveloped the residents as charges and accusations of witchcraft ran wild. By August of the same year, 19 people had been convicted and hanged for witchcraft.

This play is a faithful account of the Salem trials and a powerful and timeless depiction of how intolerance and hysteria can intersect and tear a community apart. In John Proctor, Miller gives the audience a marvellous tragic hero for any time—a flawed figure who finds his moral centre just as everything is falling to pieces around him
