Camp Description: iCaribbean is Teatro Journee’s annual cultural arts camp in which children are carried on a journey through music, Drama, Mas and dance to help them discover their identity and rich history indigenous to the Caribbean. The theme for this year’s camp: “iCaribbean and I believe”.
We believe in creating a safe space for kids to create, play, imagine and dream.
This year, some of iCaribbean’s highlighted activities include stilt walking, drumming, tambu bamboo and Mas Making as we observe the festival Carnival and the work done by Peter Minshall. They will also a lot of art therapeutic activities and focus on life skills – time management, personal hygiene, etiquette , confidence , problem solving, persistence and many more.

Camp Director:
Tafar Chia is a creative who particularly enjoys acting, directing, teaching and writing. She holds a Bachelors degree in Theatre and is the founder and creative director of Teatro Journee, an Artistic event company and performance troupe .She believes in producing her own dreams and facilitating a space for others to do the same. Her vision is to inspire and empower individuals of all ages to achieve their personal legends, and boldly go after their passions , whilst encouraging a positive holistic lifestyle through creativity.
